Powershell, search into the command history
2 min readSep 17, 2019
It can sometimes happen to write some command on the shell and needing it weeks or months afterwards.
The shortcut
First, open PowerShell
Second, press CTRL+R
Third, type what you remember, eg. “Git”
If that is the right command then, end.
Otherwise, keep pressing CTRL+R until you won’t find it
Summary
Using CTRL+R on PowerShell is very useful and it will save the hassle of moving through the entire shell history.
